New Jersey 2018 Dasara Navratri Utsav is celebrated in the month of October on Newark Avenue in Jersey City as well as in Edison, New Jersey.
Also known as Devi Navratri and Dushahra, the nine day festival is celebrated by performing puja to Goddess Durga and is concluded with Ayudha Puja and Vijaya Dasami or celebration of victory.

Edison’s Indian community will celebrate the Hindu festival Dasara Navratri on October 13, 2018.
The 2018 Edison Dushahra Utsav Navratri festival celebrations are scheduled to take place on October 13, 2018 at Lake Papaianni Park, 100 Municipal Blvd, Edison NJ 08817 across the street from Edison City Hall.
The one-day program includes burning of a 30ft effigy of the demon king Ravan, Ram Leela, astrology, mehndi, fireworks, ethnic food stalls, kids rides, arts and crafts fair, cultural programs etc.
Edison Police Department estimates several thousand people are expected to attend the Dasara festival.
If you plan on attending, get there early because pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be heavy near Rt 27 and Talmadge Road, according to the Edison Police Dept.
Also, Dasara festival parking at Lake Papaianni Park may also be tight.

Newark Avenue 2018 Dasara Navratri Festival
Jersey City Indian community will celebrate the Hindu festival Dasara Navratri between October 12-20, 2018 at the Little India business hub on Newark Avenue.
The nine-day festival usually celebrated in the evenings with Durga Puja, Ayudha Puja, Dandiyas and Raas Garba.
The Newark Avenue 2018 Navratri festival celebrations are scheduled on Fridays & Saturdays between October 12-20 in Little India business hub between Kennedy Blvd and Tonnel Avenue in Jersey City.
The Newark Avenue Navratri festival program includes Durga Puja, Aarti and Raas Garba performances by youth and women from local Indian community.
